Healthy childcare
The focus on health is also increasing in childcare. More and more childcare organisations are adapting their nutrition policies. Research also shows that childcare has a role to play in teaching a healthy lifestyle and preventing obesity.
Children play less and less outside, spend more time behind a tablet or TV and, as a result, develop obesity and lag behind in their motor development.
How do we do this at Alles Kidz?
At Alles Kidz Childcare, we have a “healthy” nutrition policy. We choose to structurally promote children’s health and healthy lifestyle.
We eat fresh fruit and vegetables every day, there is variation with drinks in milk, water and tea. We offer snacks in the form of yoghurt, gingerbread, smoothie with fruit and/or vegetables. At lunchtime, we eat a bread meal with brown bread.
And exercise?
Most motor skills are learned through play. Very small children move in an undirected way. When they are a little bigger, they start moving in a more targeted way.
In the group rooms, there is plenty of room to dance, jump and, above all, move freely. Playing outside is very important to us. It allows children to release their energy and contributes to a healthy lifestyle. We try to be outside every day, even if it is only for 15 minutes.
We do this in the form of;
- Cycling;
- Running;
- Playing in the sandbox;
- Playing with water or snow;
- Or walking to the play park.
